Fifth grade is a fast paced and challenging year.  Students are growing as learners and people, and they are building skills for success now and throughout their academic careers.

Fifth grade students typically have one hour of homework each night. Homework is assigned for both math and reading. 


-Independent Reading Book 
         Independent reading is a very important part of fifth grade. Students need to have their independent reading                 book with them everyday

-Water Bottle
         Our classroom can get very hot. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to  refill throughout the day. 

-Headphones/ Ear Buds 
       We use computers every day. Students are strongly encouraged to have their own earbuds or headphones. 

-Pencils and Pens and Erasers
          Students must use pencils for math, but they can use either pencils or blue/black pens for other subjects. 

-Binder (1.5 inch)
          Students need one 1.5 inch binder 

-Folders (3)
          Students need three folders (three-hole punched so that they can clip into the binder).

-Notebook (1)
          Students need one notebook (three-hole punched so that it can clip into the binder).
