Books and Beyond --- READING IS OUT OF THIS WORLD
“Books and Beyond” is a reading incentive program sponsored by the Matthew Thornton P.T.A. Its goal is to encourage, reward, and strengthen the practice of reading for pleasure. This year we are returning to log sheets. Our theme is "Reading is Out of this World". The program begins on October 1st and the information will be sent home that day. Additional log sheets can be downloaded from both the school and P.T.A. web sites.
The students keep track of their reading on log sheets which are collected and tabulated by our great volunteers. Log sheets are due on the following dates: November 2, December 7, January 4, February 1, March 8, April 5, and May 3. Log sheets can be turned in to the classroom teachers at anytime. Late log sheets will be held by teacher and recorded by our volunteers after the next pick up date.
Students who participate will be able to choose a free book at the book giveaway in June. Students who complete 7 log sheets will receive a gold medal at the awards ceremony in June.
HAVE FUN EVERYONE!
